NEZHA Working Groups

A Call for Participation for all NEZHA Members

The NEZHA Board of Directors is now seeking members interested in serving on a working committee in any one of the following six subject areas of zebrafish husbandry and management:

1. Larval Rearing
2. Reproduction and Spawning
3. Nutrition
4. Water Quality
5. Health Management
6. Welfare and Behavior

The goal of the working committees will be drive collaborative, formal scientific research in each of the above listed six areas of zebrafish husbandry. More specifically, the working committees will be responsible for developing experimental protocols that attempt to answer basic biological questions about zebrafish. The results of these studies may then be applied to the culture and management of zebrafish in laboratory settings. Interested parties should consult the Framework for NEZHA Working Committee document posted in the library section of the NEZHA website for more specific details of how these committees will function.

Please note that serving on a working committee is different than participating in a study created by a working committee.

Members wishing to serve on any one of the above committees may fill out the Working Committee Interest Form below; you will need to login to view and submit the survey.

NOTE: The actual launch of the working committees will be done in a rolling basis. As applications are submitted, the Director of Working Committees will review them for suitability. After a period of one month, the working committee with the highest number of suitable applicants will be organized first. Once the first committee has been launched (defined by holding regular meetings), the committee with the highest number of applicants at that time will be organized, and subsequently launched. This chain of events will be repeated until all six working committees are up and running.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Artie McCollum through the NEZHA website.
